2021 Mining and Sustainability Forum of the americas analyzed the regional supply chains for critical minerals

The meeting, which took place online, was moderated by Cesco’s executive director, Alejandra Wood.

With the aim of developing new regional policies on critical mineral supply chains, the Intergovernmental Forum on Mining, Minerals, Metals and Sustainable Development (IGF) in collaboration with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Conference of Ministries of Mining of the Americas (CAMMA), organized the “2021 Mining and Sustainability Forum of the Americas”.

The instance was moderated by Cesco’s executive director, Alejandra Wood. The panel consisted of Morgan D. Bazilian, Director of the Payne Institute for Public Policy; Luc Leboeuf, Director, International Affairs and Trade Division, Natural Resources Canada; Enir Sebastião Mendes, Director, Department of Mining Transformation and Technology, Ministry of Energy and Mines of Brazil; and K.C. Michaels, Legal Advisor to the International Energy Agency (IEA).

In this virtual event divided into two parts, practical regional policy options were discussed that will be presented to the ministers of mining and at the meeting of the Annual Conference of Ministries of Mining of the Americas on September 2, 2021.

2021 Mining and Sustainability Forum of the Americas
